Dear Editor!
The GIs during WW2 were encouraged to write-in with their fixes, improvements, widgets and what-nots that might help others service their vehicles like the 1/4-ton, 4×4, Truck or “jeep” and many other vehicles. Some truly remarkable submissions were made and you realize that the GI mechanic in the field was a pretty smart cookie. In fact, some of the improvements to the jeep were “invented” in the field and then picked up for production. The tail panel reinforcement is an example of a field fix that went into production as a standard improvement.
I hope you find the contributors section as interesting as I have. Generally, the items posted here will be jeep related, a tool or a procedure.
